As corporate media served up endless distraction of “fiscal cliff”, FISA’s 5-year extension and NCTC’s massive data collection were under-reported….Ignoring the clear language of the Fourth Amendment, the Senate approved 5-year extension of unamended “FISA Reform” law from 2008. Read Glenn Greenwald’s excellent analysis here. The role of California Sen. Dianne Feinstein was especially odious.
On December 13, reporter Julia Angwin published this important story in the Wall Street Journal, about the Obama policy changes that enable the National Counterterrorism Center to collect and store for 5 years information on innocent Americans.
And on January 1, The Washington Post ran this story, confirming that rendition continues under Obama.
