Activist/author Dan Kovalik talks about his latest book, The Plot to Overthrow Venezuela.Kovalik is retired as Chief Counsel for the Steelworkers union, and returns to talk about his fourth book in the past two years.
We begin by challenging claims by US leaders and corporate media that Nicolas Maduro's 2018 re-election was not legitimate, and note that media reports never offer evidence of election taint.
Quoting Maduro from his recent interview with Max Blumenthal of the Grayzone Project, we offer data and argument that Maduro's election was far more legitimate than America's 2016 election.
We discuss last year's attempted drone hit on Maduro, which he blames directly on John Bolton, the new embargo that is using food as a weapon to destabilize Venezuela and harm more of the population, and this week's meeting of the "Lima Group" of regime-change supporters.
We also talk about the recent meeting in Caracas of 120 nonaligned nations, which recognize Maduro.
Kovalik responds to PBC's friendly criticism that the book doesn't hold Democrats to account for their passive support of the Trump/Bolton/Abrams scheme to oust Maduro from power.
