In his latest film, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy, Greg Palast predicted the 2016 presidential election would be "rigged" by Republicans; he now concludes it was, indeed, stolen.Palast, who helped expose the stolen election in Florida in 2000, returns to analyze the 2016 presidential election. Donald Trump warned that it was "rigged", but not that it was rigged in his favor.
Palast explains the Interstate Crosscheck List, devised by Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach and used in 30 states to purge voters, based on the spurious claim that there are hordes of "double voters" who vote in more than one state. The intentionally crude database provided a pretext to purge up to 7 million voters, and Palast estimates that over a million were deleted.
We also discuss the other suppression tactics aimed at likely Democratic voters, from voter caging to photo ID laws to limits on early voting. Palast, who did not support Trump or Clinton, concludes that Hillary actually won this election--as reflected in the popular vote--but it was manipulated in key states to produce an Electoral College win for Trump.
