Aaron J. Leonard has published two books on the FBI’s dark side, and joins us to talk Mueller, Comey and the Russiagate investigation. Leonard is the author of Heavy Radicals: The FBI’s Secret War on America’s Maoists and A Threat of the First Magnitude–FBI Counterintelligence and Infiltration. Leonard describes himself as a former radical who became an FBI skeptic when he discovered the Bureau was investigating his former radical group.

On March 16, he published a column at Truthout, Don’t Let Mueller Restore Your Faith in the FBI.
We begin with a little background on Leonard and his views of the FBI, then look at the post 9/11 12-year tenure of Robert Mueller as FBI Director, followed by his friend James Comey. Leonard and PBC draw interesting parallels to the past, and note the many problematic issues at the FBI under both men.
One of Leonard’s strong comments: “these people are not working for us.”
